Steve Carper Jr Banjo/Vocals 

 Steve Carper Jr plays a Recording King banjo made by Gibson and sold by Montgomery Ward in the early 30's. He sings lead and harmony vocals.  He is married to Donna and is living in beautiful Craig County where he has been a native all his life. He has one child, Jesse Carper who also plays with the band. His interests are bear hunting with dogs, fishing, turkey hunting and farming. His background and roots have always been with old time and bluegrass music. They come from a long line of musicians making his son the fifth generation to have played this mountain music. He has also been employed with Roanoke County for 23 years

Jesse Carper Mandolin/Vocals 

Jesse Carper plays a Gibson F5 Sam Bush model mandolin. He sings lead and harmony vocals.  He is very high energy in the band. He has a deep love for hunting, fishing, sports and he enjoys 4wheeling in his Toyota truck. He started playing mandolin at age 11.  He's placed 2nd at Galax and won 1st at Vinton on Mandolin as a youth.  His voice has developed over the years into one that shows he has a god given gift, you have to hear him and watch him perform -he can stop the show. Now 20 he is a new member of the Craig County Fire Department and works for Earthmovers.  He played with the Bluegrass Brothers for a few months a couple years ago, this really inspired him to want to continue on in the music business, maybe as a career.  Watch out Nashville.

Jerry A. Wood Fiddle/Vocals 

 Jerry A Wood lives and grew up in Salem, Virginia. He learned to play the trumpet, mandolin, and his first love, the fiddle. Just like his father and his grandfather, they handed down the fiddle to him. He has been playing since he was 14 years old. Jerry played in the Andrew Lewis School band, stage band and all regional where he was named to the Who's Who in music. He has also played with several name bands in the country and also bluegrass bands like The McPeak Brothers and Craig County Boys. He also does studio work helping on CD's. While growing up he played and won a lot of Bluegrass Fiddler's Conventions, winning first place trophies beating out his father. Jerry in his spare time likes bike riding, walking through the mountains. and watching NASCAR. He is currently employed at KME Fire Apparatus. He is presently playing an Arthur Connor 5-string fiddle with a fast-up coming group Locust Mountain Boys. So come out sometime and enjoy the music

Jeff Downey Guitar/Vocals 

 Jeff Downey lives and grew up in Iron Gate, Virginia, which is in Alleghany County.  He is our new guitar player and sings vocals.  He enjoys hunting, fishing, but most of all his love for bluegrass music makes it his favorite thing to do.  He started playing as a child in church.  Bluegrass Gospel ws his catalyst and he still loves to play the old gospel tunes.  He has one son, Jeremy Downey, who recently answered our country's call to duty.  He joined the Army and is a part of the 25th Uniform Company.  He wants to thank all their bluegrass buddies for their support

Stephen Young Bass/Vocals

 Stephen Young comes to the band from Franklin County, VA.  Along with his distinctive style on bass, he also sings lead, tenor, and baritone.He grew up in a musical family where his parents and 3 brothers all played.  He's been a member of several bands through the years, most recently with "Poplar Hollow".Aside from his music, he enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing.
